Blaming "incendiary language" is a tool of ideologues...

Blaming "incendiary language" is a tool of ideologues

Fr. Frank Pavone www.priestsforlife.org

After Saturday's tragic shooting in Tucson, some have pointed the finger at inflammatory political rhetoric.

Many singled out Sarah Palin's now-infamous "Don't Retreat, Instead - RELOAD!" tweet and her 'Crosshairs' campaign map, which included Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' district, as a sign that some politicians have gone too far in stoking vitriol against their political opponents. (Since the shooting, Palin reportedly emphasized in an email that she "hates violence.") Others reject any connection between the shooter, who does not appear to espouse any coherent ideology, and our current political climate.

What are the ethical and moral implications of incendiary political language?

One of the ethical and moral obligations that is uppermost in my mind regarding this debate about "incendiary political language" is the obligation to preserve freedom of speech and the further obligation to accept personal responsibility rather than blame one's actions on what someone else said or did.

I know from personal experience what it's like to be the target of such blame. My highly visible work in the fight against abortion has earned me the wrath of abortion advocates across the nation. Though the work of my ministry is completely non-violent, and though I have even gone so far as to offer and ultimately bestow a reward for information leading to the conviction of those who do violence against abortion providers, I have nevertheless been the subject of accusations and public protests because I am, allegedly, an inciter of violence.

My public declarations against violence have forced my detractors to admit that yes, Fr. Frank "says" he opposed violence. But because I also say that abortion is an act of killing, I am told that I share the blame for those unstable individuals who have shot abortion doctors. In fact, in 2001, a member of the New York State legislature organized a protest against me in New York City, calling together the leaders of NARAL, Planned Parenthood, Catholics for Choice, and other groups, blaming me for violence because of what I say about abortion.

So imagine my surprise when, pretty immediately after the Tucson tragedy, people started blaming it on "incendiary political language." This is a favorite tool of some ideologues in our society.

Actually, it has been for a long time. Martin Luther King, Jr. had to defend himself against such attacks in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail. He wrote to the clergy who criticized his peaceful activism:

"In your statement you assert that our actions, even though peaceful, must be condemned because they precipitate violence. But is this a logical assertion? Isn't this like condemning a robbed man because his possession of money precipitated the evil act of robbery? Isn't this like condemning Socrates because his unswerving commitment to truth and his philosophical inquiries precipitated the act by the misguided populace in which they made him drink hemlock? Isn't this like condemning Jesus because his unique God -consciousness and never-ceasing devotion to God's will precipitated the evil act of crucifixion? We must come to see that, as the Federal courts have consistently affirmed, it is wrong to urge an individual to cease his efforts to gain his basic constitutional rights because the quest may precipitate violence. Society must protect the robbed and punish the robber."
The bottom line is this. Like it or not, we are each responsible for our own actions. Furthermore, we are in fact influenced by one another, but unless you want to live in a hole in the mountains, you have to accept that fact while avoiding the temptation to abandon that personal responsibility. And to attempt to "keep the peace" by chilling, or somehow prohibiting, freedom of speech, is simply another form of violence against the human spirit. By Fr. Science & the Sanctity of Life

Baby in the WombOn April 19, Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman signed a new state law banning abortions at and after 20 weeks. This isn’t just another abortion restriction — it has the potential to be a major breakthrough in the fight for the sanctity of human life.

The Nebraska law is called the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. As Marc Thiessen writes in the Washington Post, it’s based on reputable scientific studies that tell us “that fetuses can feel pain at 20 weeks, and possibly as early as 17 weeks when a portion of the brain called the ‘subplate zone’ is formed.”

And, according to the widely respected Dr. Kanwaljeet Anand, who has been studying infant pain for 25 years, unborn infants may feel pain more keenly than those already born.

Of course, the Nebraska law faces court challenges. Why? Because it restricts abortion according to when a fetus can feel pain — at 20 weeks—instead of when a fetus can survive outside the womb — usually 22 to 24 weeks. Already the Center for Reproductive Rights has called it “unconstitutional” and hinted that they’re planning litigation. No doubt other pro-abortion groups will be lining up to help.

But, as Thiessen says, “regardless of the legal outcome, a national discussion on the topic of ‘fetal pain’ can only help the pro-life movement.”

It’s easy to see why. As science and technology develop ever more sophisticated ways for us to study the child in the womb, it’s getting harder and harder for the pro-choice movement to argue in favor of snuffing out that child’s life. And who would want to argue in favor of deliberately causing the child pain on top of that?

What we’re talking about here is no less than the humanity of the fetus, and science is making that subject harder and harder to avoid.

The scientific studies are backing up what our faith had already told us: that the life in the womb is indeed a human life, with the same qualities that make us consider our own lives sacred — a beating heart, brain function, and sensitivity to pain being just a few of them. And so we believe that a child’s life is a gift from God and worthy of protection and care.

Abortionists can lie all they want to about the development of the fetus. Undercover videos recently taken at a Kentucky abortion clinics show that they’re still lying to women and girls about the development process. But those lies are getting easier and easier to disprove. And the facts are on our side.

The more we talk about those facts, the more the law will come to be on our side as well. Nebraska took the lead in this case because the state government wanted to prevent infamous late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart from following through on his stated intentions to carry on the work of the late George Tiller. If the Nebraska law holds up in court, other states are likely to follow.

Even the pro-abortion forces can’t plausibly deny what our own eyes and ears are telling us about the life in the womb. In this case, seeing is believing — and what we’re seeing, by the grace of God, could finally put a stop to the wanton destruction of unborn human lives.

New Pregnancy Center's Link

As Wesleyans, we believe that life begins at conception (Section 410-11) [The Discipline of the Wesleyan Church] and are therefore opposed to abortion. As Christians and Wesleyans we also believe the Gospel as preached by the Reverend John Wesley has social and moral implications as well. Because of this we believe that viable alternatives should be provided to those who become pregnant and feel they have no other options. People find our blog and facebook page in different ways including Google word searches. Because of this we now have a Pregnancy Center Link in the left hand column of our blogpage...God bless, keith 1 Cor 13

Australia, Abortion... and Ota Benga-A Commentary

I originally wrote this article last year and posted in "The Circuit Rider." Since "Right to Life Sunday" comes in a couple of weeks, I thought I would post this updated article...

I was reading the Evansville Courier today and found this article on Willie Morse, who served as a "Buffalo Soldier" during WWII. Willie, who you see pictured on the right, is 81 years old now. His mother, who lived to be 101, came to America on a slave ship from Africa. The fact that we gave names like "Buffalo Soldier" to those who fought with us for our freedom is anathema to me.

This past November marked the first time in our history as a nation that we elected an African-American to the highest office in the land. This event shows we have come a long way since the days of slavery, the first time a human being was thought of as property at his owner's disposal in this nation. No, I don't agree with most of the President's social and economic policies. Our teleprompter in chief doesn't quite seem to "get it' when it comes to moral reform. But, we as Americans can be proud we have made some progress.

Darwinism and the "theory" of evolution have fueled many of the racist movements over the past couple of centuries. Just look at Hitler and others and all the evil associated with their ideas. I agree with Ken Ham,of Answers in Genesis Ministries. Race is actually a word favored mostly by evolutionists. I like his choice "people groups" far better. After all, unless we are from another planet, we all belong to the human race.

One of the most extreme examples of Darwinist racism is the story of Ota Benga. Ota Benga was a Congolese pygmie caught in the Congo and placed in a New York Zoo in 1906. He was placed in a cage for everyone's amusement. The movies "Quigley Down Under" and the recent "Australia" give an excellent portrayel how the Congolese and Aborigine people have been treated over the years.

As Wesleyans we can be proud that we were among the first to admit women and African-Americans to our colleges and universities. Wesley summed it up best in his qoute you find under his picture on this blogspot,"Where is the justice in inflicting the severist evils on those that have done us no wrong?"

Yes, we have made some progress and should keep striving for that ideal of equality among everyone. In the process, let us not forget those living among us in their mother's womb. The Bible makes it quite clear how God feels about all human life, born and unborn. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you..."Jeremiah 1:5. Science and medicine leave no question about the matter either. It is interesting that the same political party who resisted equal rights for African-Americans until 1964, (don't believe me, Click here)do not want to extend equal rights to the unborn. We hear the usual sad argument about choice and the mother's right to her own body. Sadly the unborn child, brought into this world through no choice of his/ her own, have no say in the matter. If this argument made any sense, then why not increase the age until two years old?Sound crazy? Is partial-birth Abortion any less brutal? Upcoming "healthcare" being shoved down our throats by politicians would probably even pay for these "procedures." History will tell you that in any civilization where life is not sacred for some, it is then not sacred for anyone. We only need to look back to Nazi Germany to refresh our memories.
As Wesleyans, we historically have not been strangers to political activism. Our pulpits were not silent during the slavery issue. While some pulpits tried to justify slavery, our's relentlessly preached that all were created equal in God's eyes. We can not be silent any longer. The blood of millions of children are crying out to us from the ground... As George Santayana wrote in Reason and Common Sense,"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."...God bless, keith 1 Cor 13

One of these things is not like the other...

Pro-Abortion Advocates Praise Abortionist, Blast Pro-Life Efforts
Monday, January 04, 2010
By Penny Starr, Senior Staff Writer
www.cnsnews.com

Baby at 5 months gestation.
(CNSNews.com) -- The pro-abortion group NARAL Pro-Choice America is asking visitors to its Web site to cast votes for the person who has done the most for their movement. Nominees include abortionist LeRoy Carhart, who is one of the few to perform late-term abortions in his Nebraska clinic.

The group also nominated MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow to its annual "Hall of Fame" for her "thoughtful coverage" of the murder of another late-term abortionist, George Tiller, who was shot by a man known to have mental problems in May.

Others nominated for the “Hall of Fame” include Baltimore City Council President Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, for sponsoring a bill recently signed into law that requires non-profit pregnancy resource centers to post signs outside their facilities stating abortions and contraceptives are not provided or referred; and lawmakers Rep. Jose Serrano (D-N.Y.), Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and Washington D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, who "blocked Washington, D.C.'s elected leaders from using locally raised funds to pay for abortion services for low-income women."

The pro-life activist group Operation Rescue issued a statement on its Web site after the late-December posting of the nominations, calling NARAL an "aging feminist group" and recounting the successful efforts of Operation Rescue and three other pro-life organizations to have Carhart's abortion clinics investigated by the Nebraska attorney general's office and the State Department of Health.

“It is hard to believe that even radical abortion proponents would do anything but slink away in shame from Carhart and his disreputable and shoddy abortion business,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman in the statement. “It is shameful that NARAL would endanger women by misleading them about Carhart to advance their political agenda.”

"If they truly cared about women, they should be warning women away from him," Newman said.

NARAL also is collecting votes for its "Hall of Shame," which it says picks the person or organization that has most harmed the pro-abortion movement.

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) (AP photo)
This year's nominees include Rep. Bart Stupak (R-Mich.) and Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), who NARAL said "led the charge to use health reform to attack choice”; Arizona Republican Governor Jan Brewer, who is charged with reversing then-Governor Janet Napolitano's pro-abortion efforts; all lawmakers in Oklahoma that are backing efforts to have anonymous information about women who have abortions posted on the Internet (to provide a database about abortion decision, those lawmakers say); and Personhood USA, which NARAL says "exists solely to establish legal rights for fertilized eggs and trigger legal battles over abortion that could go all the way to the Supreme Court."

But the grassroots organization that is pushing for legislation recognizing a human being's rights from the moment of conception forward is not disputing its nomination.

"We at Personhood USA are honored to be considered one of the top four threats to abortion in America," Keith Mason, co-founder of the group that he helped launch one year ago," said in a statement. "Preborn babies are human beings with a God-given right to live.”

He added that NARAL had correctly described his group as "working to outlaw abortion, recognizing Personhood (sic) rights of every child in America."

Pro-life activist, author and nurse Jill Stanek noted on her Web site that NARAL failed to name the four measures Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law, so Stanek did: 1) partial-birth abortion ban; 2) ban against non-physicians performing abortions; 3) conscience protection of pro-life health care workers not to participate in abortion; and 4) informed consent that includes a 24-hour waiting period and explanation of the risks of abortion.

In its “Hall of Fame” posting, NARAL also mourned the loss of late-term abortionist George Tiller, who was murdered, and Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), who are described as men who “lived by the credo, ‘Trust Women.’” (Should be hall of shame.)

The Manhattan Declaration

Randy Alcorn

Today marks the public release of the Manhattan Declaration, which Chuck Colson invited me to sign several weeks ago. After reading it, I gladly agreed to do so.

I am posting only the Preamble below, as well as a part of the Declaration about life, in the hopes that it will interest you in reading the full statement, posted at www.manhattandeclaration.org. If you read and agree with it, you may sign on with us if you so choose.

I do not participate in many things like this, but both the content and the tone of this statement is something I wish to affirm. It expresses truth, but I believe it does so with grace. May God use this statement to help galvanize the Church to walk in a spirit of bold humility, full of grace and truth, as we face the critical issues of our culture.

Preamble

Christians are heirs of a 2,000-year tradition of proclaiming God’s word, seeking justice in our societies, resisting tyranny, and reaching out with compassion to the poor, oppressed and suffering.

While acknowledging the imperfections and shortcomings of Christian institutions and communities in all ages, we claim the heritage of those Christians who defended innocent life by rescuing discarded babies from trash heaps in Roman cities and publicly denouncing the Empire’s sanctioning of infanticide. We remember with reverence those believers who sacrificed their lives by remaining in Roman cities to tend the sick and dying during the plagues, and who died bravely in the coliseums rather than deny their Lord.

After the barbarian tribes overran Europe, Christian monasteries preserved not only the Bible but also the literature and art of Western culture. It was Christians who combated the evil of slavery: Papal edicts in the 16th and 17th centuries decried the practice of slavery and first excommunicated anyone involved in the slave trade; evangelical Christians in England, led by John Wesley and William Wilberforce, put an end to the slave trade in that country. Christians under Wilberforce’s leadership also formed hundreds of societies for helping the poor, the imprisoned, and child laborers chained to machines.

In Europe, Christians challenged the divine claims of kings and successfully fought to establish the rule of law and balance of governmental powers, which made modern democracy possible. And in America, Christian women stood at the vanguard of the suffrage movement. The great civil rights crusades of the 1950s and 60s were led by Christians claiming the Scriptures and asserting the glory of the image of God in every human being regardless of race, religion, age or class.

This same devotion to human dignity has led Christians in recent decades to work to end the dehumanizing of human trafficking and sexual slavery, bring compassionate care to AIDS sufferers in Africa, and assist in a myriad of other human rights causes – from providing clean water in developing nations to providing homes for tens of thousands of children orphaned by war, disease and gender discrimination.

Like those who have gone before us in the faith, Christians today are called to proclaim the Gospel of costly grace, to protect the intrinsic dignity of the human person and to stand for the common good. In being true to its own calling, the call to discipleship, the church through service to others can make a profound contribution to the public good.

Life

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10:10

Although public sentiment has moved in a pro-life direction, we note with sadness that pro-abortion ideology prevails today in our government. Many in the present administration want to make abortions legal at any stage of fetal development, and want to provide abortions at taxpayer expense. Majorities in both houses of Congress hold pro-abortion views. The Supreme Court, whose infamous 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade stripped the unborn of legal protection, continues to treat elective abortion as a fundamental constitutional right, though it has upheld as constitutionally permissible some limited restrictions on abortion. The President says that he wants to reduce the “need” for abortion—a commendable goal. But he has also pledged to make abortion more easily and widely available by eliminating laws prohibiting government funding, requiring waiting periods for women seeking abortions, and parental notification for abortions performed on minors. The elimination of these important and effective pro-life laws cannot reasonably be expected to do other than significantly increase the number of elective abortions by which the lives of countless children are snuffed out prior to birth. Our commitment to the sanctity of life is not a matter of partisan loyalty, for we recognize that in the thirty-six years since Roe v. Wade, elected officials and appointees of both major political parties have been complicit in giving legal sanction to what Pope John Paul II described as “the culture of death.” We call on all officials in our country, elected and appointed, to protect and serve every member of our society, including the most marginalized, voiceless, and vulnerable among us.

Planned Parenthood Director Quits After Watching Abortion on Ultrasound

Monday, November 02, 2009
Joseph Abrams

The former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in southeast Texas says she had a "change of heart" after watching an abortion last month — and she quit her job and joined a pro-life group in praying outside the facility.

Abby Johnson, 29, used to escort women from their cars to the clinic in the eight years she volunteered and worked for Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas. But she says she knew it was time to leave after she watched a fetus "crumple" as it was vacuumed out of a patient's uterus in September.

'When I was working at Planned Parenthood I was extremely pro-choice," Johnson told FoxNews.com. But after seeing the internal workings of the procedure for the first time on an ultrasound monitor, "I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart ... a spiritual conversion."

Johnson said she became disillusioned with her job after her bosses pressured her for months to increase profits by performing more and more abortions, which cost patients between $505 and $695.

"Every meeting that we had was, 'We don't have enough money, we don't have enough money — we've got to keep these abortions coming,'" Johnson told FoxNews.com. "It's a very lucrative business and that's why they want to increase numbers."

A spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood told FoxNews.com that it offers a range of services at it 850 health centers nationwide, providing pregnancy tests, vaccinations and women's health services, "including wellness exams, breast and cervical cancer screenings, contraception, and STD testing and treatment."

"Planned Parenthood's focus is on prevention," wrote Diane Quest, the group's National Media Director. "Nationwide, more than 90% of the health care Planned Parenthood affiliates provide is preventive in nature," explaining that a "core component the organization's mission is to help women plan healthy pregnancies and prevent unintended pregnancies."

But Johnson said her bosses told her to change her "priorities" and focus on abortions, which she said made money for the office at a time when the recession has left them hurting.

"For them there's not a lot of money in education," she said. "There's as not as much money in family planning as there is abortion."

Without a doctor in residence, she said, her clinic offered abortions only two days a month, but the doctor could perform 30 to 40 procedures on each day he was there. Johnson estimated that each abortion could net the branch about $350, adding up to more than $10,000 a month.

"The majority of the money was going to the facility," she said.

Johnson said she never got any orders to increase profits in e-mails or letters, and had no way to prove her allegations about practices at the Bryan branch. She told FoxNews.com that pressure came in personal interactions with her regional manager from the larger Houston office.

But she said she got involved with the clinic "to help women and ... [do] the right thing," and the idea of raking in cash seemed to go against what she felt was the mission of the 93-year-old organization.

"Ideally my goal as the facility's director is that your abortion numbers don't increase," because "you're providing so much family planning and so much education that there is not a demand for abortion services.

"But that was not their goal," she said.

A spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood refused to answer questions about Johnson's accusations, but released a statement noting that a district court had issued a temporary restraining order against the former branch director and against the Coalition for Life, an anti-abortion group with which Johnson is now affiliated.

"We regret being forced to turn to the courts to protect the safety and confidentiality of our clients and staff, however, in this instance it is absolutely necessary," said spokeswoman Rochelle Tafolla.

It is unclear what made Planned Parenthood seek the restraining order. Johnson said she did not intend to release any sensitive information about her former patients at the clinic.

A hearing is set for Nov. 10 to determine whether a judge will order an injunction against Johnson and the Coalition for Life, which has led protests outside the clinic and joined her in a prayer vigil there last month.

Johnson hasn't found a job since she quit on Oct. 6, but she said she's enjoying the time off to be with her 3-year-old daughter.

"It's been great just to spend some time at home and get a break," she said.

Abortion is NOT Healthcare!

by Steven Ertelt

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Members of the House of Representatives are working on a second phony compromise that would try to mitigate some of the concerns pro-life lawmakers and groups have about the abortion funding found in HR 3200, the main health care "reform" bill in the House.

The current bill contains the Capps Amendment that abortion advocates have been portraying as a compromise that prohibits abortion funding.

But pro-life groups and leading pro-life lawmakers such as Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan have exposed the Capps language as a fraud by noting that it allows massive abortion subsidies and mandates.

Knowing Stupak has assembled potentially enough pro-life and moderate Democrats to join Republicans in voting down the rules for debate on the bill or the bill itself if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi doesn't allow a debate on his amendment to yank the abortion funding, pro-abortion lawmakers are hoping to pacify him and his coalition.

Now, pro-abortion Rep. Henry Waxman, the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, is trying to work out a compromise with some of the members of Stupak's coalition who are not as strongly pro-life.

The goal appears to be to "strengthen" the Capps Amendment in a way that would siphon off votes from Stupak's coalition but to do so in a way that doesn't actually amount to a complete stoppage of the abortion funding Stupak and pro-life advocates desire.

Rep. Diana DeGette, a Colorado Democrat who is one of the pro-abortion leaders in the House admitted to the Denver Post today that the goal is to peel off enough members of Stupak's coalition to get a winning vote on the rule and the bill and allow massive abortion funding at the same time.

Douglas Johnson, the legislative director of National Right to Life, tells LifeNews.com that pro-life lawmakers and advocates need to see through this phony compromise.

"Pelosi and Waxman are working on cosmetic changes to the Capps Amendment, which they will then try to peddle as an even-more-generous 'compromise' by the pro-abortion side (but which in reality will put the federal government into the elective abortion business in both the public plan and the premium subsidy program)," he said.

Johnson is concerned that some familiar faces from the Stupak coalition will emerge in support of the fake compromise -- including Rep. Tim Ryan, an Ohio Democrat who was formerly pro-life but now has a consistent pro-abortion voting record. The mainstream media portrays Ryan as pro-life even though he hasn't voted that way in a couple of years.

"In any such new twist on the Waxman-Capps scam, we can expect that a prominent role will be assigned to [Ryan], who actually does the bidding of Planned Parenthood .. and Nancy Pelosi," Johnson said.

Even if the House members adopt the new Waxman language, Johnson says that doesn't alleviate the concern of abortion funding found in the public option.

He says the government option "problem is very important and separate and distinct from the premium-subsidy problem."

The independent FactCheck.org web site has verified pro-life analysis that the public plan will pay for abortions "so long as the plans took in enough private money in the form of premiums paid by individuals or their employers. The Capps language also would allow private plans purchased with federal subsidies 'affordability credits' for low-income families and workers to cover abortion."

FactCheck indicates that both private and public insurance plans would include abortion funding under the legislation pending in Congress.

"Low- and moderate-income persons who would choose the 'public plan' would qualify for federal subsidies to purchase it. Private plans that cover abortion also could be purchased with the help of federal subsidies," the web site says. "As for the House bill as it stands now, it’s a matter of fact that it would allow both a 'public plan' and newly subsidized private plans to cover all abortions."

ACTION: 1) Go to http://www.Senate.gov and contact your two senators to urge them to support any amendments to stop abortion funding. 2) Contact members of the House Rules Committee (see http://rules.house.gov) and urge them to allow a vote on the Stupak amendment to stop abortion funding.

Does Murder Begat Murder?

A Commentary

Anyone who knows me very well should be familiar with my stand on abortion and those who perform them. This practice is a blight on what we would call "civilized" society with the blessings of our highest court. It should be noted that these courts do not honor the will of the people in most of these cases. Our President wants us to find "common ground" in keeping abortion legal while trying to reduce abortions. That's kind of like asking a drowning man if he wants a drink of water.

One would have to be a hermit to miss all the media coverage when the late term abortionist, Dr. George Tiller was killed while ushering in his church recently. Tiller was responsible by his own admission of performing some 60,000 late term abortions at his "practice". That's more people than those who died in the entire Viet Nam war. The media consistently used the words late term in their reports. Let's be clear about this. What they were describing was the practice of partial birth abortion, a practice so cruel and bizarre that I won't describe it here. Tiller had faced charges in court over his practices, but thanks to limp wristed judges and juries, they were dismissed.

Do I think we should take the law into our hands as Tiller's killer recently did? Absolutely not. A just God will judge those one day for their actions against his children. Genesis 9:6 tells us,"Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man." (NKJV) Actions like this set put a black mark upon all the recent progress made by pro-life groups. Dr. Tiller's actions were wrong, but so were his killer's. God valued Dr. Tiller's life as much as the some 60,000 partially born babies he killed. God always has the final say. Sometimes we bring judgement upon ourselves in this life time, as Ezekiel 35:6 tells us,"therefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you."(NKJV)

Jesus is coming soon! let's all pray we are ready...God bless, keith 1 Cor 13

Commentary from CNS News

A Pro-Life ‘Jihad?’
Tuesday, June 02, 2009
In the very heart of the pro-life community, there is nothing they wanted less than another shooting of an abortionist. An unhinged vigilante’s shooting of notorious Kansas late-term abortion “provider” George Tiller prompted an avalanche of press releases from pro-life groups denouncing the killing.

Why bother? Let’s face it. The national media had zero interest in spotlighting a pro-life spokesman expressing horror, because let’s face it, they don’t believe it. Instead, as with ABC, they found anonymous citizens on the website Twitter saying “Oh, happy, day. Tiller the baby killer is dead." Another wrote, "God bless the gunman."

It was time for a barrage of liberal mudslinging. Keith Olbermann started his MSNBC program with these words: “A religious jihad by fundamentalist crusaders who believe that murder is justified, their acts of violence having the intended effect of changing behavior. Our fifth story on the Countdown: Not the Taliban, not Hamas, not al Qaeda.”

He was referring to conservative politicians and bloggers and the Fox News Channel. Olbermann insisted there was a “straight line” of culpability from Fox News to the Tiller shooter.

He played clips of O’Reilly disparaging Tiller: “For 5,000 dollars, Tiller, the baby killer, as some call him, will perform a late-term abortion for just about any reason.” And: “Tiller the baby killer out in Kansas, acquitted. Acquitted today of murdering babies. There’s got to be a special place in hell for this guy.”

Olbermann was so offended he called for a boycott of businesses that allow a Fox News infection in public.

“Don’t write a letter, don’t make a threat, just get up and explain, if they will not change the channel,” he exclaimed, “leave the place and say calmly why it is you are taking your business elsewhere. If you know a viewer of that channel, show them this tape, or just the tape of the attacks on Dr. Tiller that set the stage for his assassination.

“Fox News Channel will never restrain itself from incitement to murder and terrorism, not until its profits begin to decline, when its growth stops. So not so much a boycott here as a quarantine, because this has got to stop.”

The Tiller assassination? Olbermann insisted that the mere act of denouncing Tiller as a killer of babies – as if he were instead removing tumors – is an invitation to terrorism and murder. This was not a call for moderation by the pro-life movement, but for rhetorical surrender.

The media demanded that pro-lifers stop defining abortion as the ending of a human life. Such a definition was so raw and emotional that it somehow disfigured the “truth” that this is merely a woman-saving health procedure that was not only legal, but commendable.

While they pawed through Twitter looking for anti-Tiller “hate speech,” liberal journalists expressed no distaste for the revoltingly gilded rhetoric in praise of this monster.

In the Washington Times, reporter Julia Duin found the “Very Reverend” Katharine Ragsdale of Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts to express how the “choice” advocates felt.

"This is about the loss of a man who was a saint and a martyr," she said in an interview. "He was a prayerful man who put his life at risk to protect others and died for it.”

Over on National Public Radio, “Talk of the Nation” host Neal Conan was hoping the polls would tilt back to the left: “There was a recent Gallup poll that suggested that opinion on abortion had actually shifted in this country toward the pro-life side, sort of, outside of the context of Kansas in – on the national level – there might be some concern that if the pro-life movement is associated with vigilante tactics like this, again, that could cut in to those gains.”

His guest, Wichita Eagle reporter Dion Lefler, agreed: “Yeah. I think that it could. I mean, you know, every time there's an incident like this, I mean, you will – one prominent pro-life person here in town told me that he thought that if this guy is linked to the movement then it's going to set them back 20 years.”

That’s exactly what the pro-abortion media would love to accomplish. They’re willing to smear the pro-life movement with the mud of the militia movement or al-Qaeda if it will enable their cause. There is no extreme, and no mainstream. There is only a ghastly, murderous blur.

George Tiller was a monster who personally murdered 60,000 babies. May God have mercy on his soul.
