The High Cost of Revival...?

Its that time of year again, Spring will soon be upon us. Many churches will have Spring Revival Services this time of year. As Holiness churches we are not strangers to Revival meetings. Evangelists will tell you that many pastors do not have Revivals any more. They will offer different reasons for this, lack of participation, financial difficulties, etc. As Bro. Mitchum shared with us last night at Faith Pointe Wesleyan, the most common excuse he hears from Pastors is that their congregations will reject good Holiness preaching. So many in this age of relativity want to do their own thing, even when it comes to Christianity. You can pretty much pick your flavor these days.Pastor Mitchum shared some of these thoughts in his message from John Chapter Three last night. "As a country we are headed down the wrong road, some would say a point of no return. We can expect this from leaders who profess no vistage of Christianity. But what about the Church? What excuse does She have?" We, especially those who call ourselves Holiness Churches, must point the way. This must start on an individual basis, then it will spread to the church. As C.T. Studd once said,

"Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell."

You can still come hear some great music by Allen Strange (Paoli Wesleyan) and some sound Bible based
Holiness preaching by Rev. C.R. Mitchum. Saturday at 7:00PM and Sunday at 10:30AM. If you need directions call 812-897-2063 or use the contact info listed on the left side of this page... God Bless...keith 1 Cor 13
